XXVth National Kisjanko Bori Embroidering Competition

The department of applied arts of the House of Traditions and the Foundation of culture of Mezőkövesd announce the XXVth National Kisjanko Bori  Embroidering Competition.

The aim of the competition is to retain and to improve the traditions of the Hungarian folk costumes and embroidery, to track and to process the less-known old styles and also to prepare the kind of applied arts which are suitable of the requirements of the art and the modern daily use.

Anybody can apply for the competition. Self-designed creations are demended which were never been judged by the national NIT Jury and which were never been in commercial trade.

It is only allowed to apply with new products (maximum 5 piece), the connected piece are counted as one.

The executer can not participate alone in the competition. The competition runs with catchwords. The application form must be attached in a closed evelope with the catchword. The application form can be downloaded from the internet or can be found at the annoncer. The creations will be judged for that reason the cost is 800HUF for each creation which must be paid on check and the copy of the check must be sent with the application form.

The creation must be posted by 01/06/07 or personly can be turned in 06-08/06/07 between 8-16h or on the 09/06/07 between 10-16h.

COMPETITION CATEGORIES:

1. Outfits:
Folk-outfit of different regions and those were created on  the base of those motives.

2. In house fabrics:
In house fabric creations based on folk motives.

PRIZES:

The prizes will be given by the decision of the Jury by the standard of the creations. Half of all prizes will be given to the designer the other half to the executer. The creation which earned jury number will be exhibited. The non-exhibited pieces can be received after the opening and exhibited ones after the exhibition.

The opening of the competition will be 20/07/07 at 11am. at the House of Culture in Mezőkövesd which will be followed by a conferance on the 20-22/07/07.


The exhibition can be seen until the 30/09/07.
