FOLKLORE FESTIVAL OF MATYÓ-LAND

Our town which is well-known by its marvellous folk art will host numerous folk and dance groups from the country and from abroad through the festival. Beside the hundreds of dancers actors and other tradition keeper groups will guarantee the success of the event. Beside them the street of Hadas will offer tempting goods to the visitors as well . The houses of the "Hadas" town district


The "Hadas" of Mezőkövesd with its small plots, irregularly twisting streets or some buildings of the town district have been guarding authentically the architecture and the former way of life of the "Matyós" for 150-200 years. In the folk houses, which can be found in the ancient seed, pottery, weaving mill, honey-cake-, glass-grinding- and embroidery workshops are functioning, furniture painted by hand can be seen. >>
